Sony SRG-AS10 ? Camera PTZ Auto Framing

Overview
The latest PTZ Auto Framing technology automatically detects and tracks subjects, enabling automated video capture with natural, well-balanced and framing. High-resolution 4K 60p video with refined image quality can be achieved without relying on manual operation or advanced shooting skills. In addition, the compact and lightweight design suits a flexible range of installation environments.

Features

1. PTZ Auto Framing overcomes skill gaps and reduces operator dependence
Powered by Sony’s proprietary AI analytics algorithms, the camera automatically tracks subjects and continuously adjusts framing to maintain natural composition. PTZ Auto Framing adapts to a wide range of capture and streaming scenarios, including online classes and remote lectures in education, corporate content creation and internal/external streaming, as well as sports events and competitions. It enables automated capture without reliance on operators or advanced skills.

  • Automatically and reliably shoots video
Sony’s proprietary AI analytics algorithm detects a person’s skeleton and head position and recognizes your primary subject, even when there are several people in the frame. It achieves accurate framing and consistent tracking.
  • Enhanced production efficiency with Ball Sports (Basketball) Mode*
Ideal for capturing basketball games, the SRG-AS10 tracks both the ball and players, automatically framing the scene from an overview angle to clearly capture the flow of the game. Unlike conventional subject tracking, it employs advanced tracking technology to account for the fast and irregular movements of the ball.

*This feature is designed exclusively for indoor five-on-five format basketball games. It provides an overview angle of players and the ball, but does not track specific individuals holding the ball. The entire court can be captured from a single viewpoint, but ball tracking is not supported in this mode. Please note that the Person Framing Mode and Ball Sports Framing Mode cannot be used simultaneously. This unit must be installed at the center of the court along the sideline. An official ball is required.
  • Customize the area to track with Tracking Range
You can configure PTZ Auto Framing to only operate within a predefined area*. When a subject leaves the predefined area, PTZ Auto Framing stops and smoothly zooms out until the subject returns to the predefined area. The predefined area can be displayed as an overlay on the Web UI live view. Simultaneously, this function allows you to exclude subjects that you do not want to frame.

*Only one area can be set.
  • Maintain viewing angle with Fixed Angle Position
When a subject enters the predefined area*, PTZ Auto Framing will pause and the angle of view will automatically maintain the predefined area. This is ideal for a speaker at a lectern, for example, when you don’t want the camera to adjust with every movement. PTZ Auto Framing will resume when the subject exits the area. The predefined area can be displayed as an overlay on the Web UI live view.

*Only one area can be set.
  • Prioritize presenters with Face Registration
The SRG-AS10 can register the primary subject, tracking them reliably based on pre-registered face data and tracking priority. External Face Data Import (JPEG) is available for off-site preparation and fast on-site setup. Automatic start/return is also enhanced, using registered face information to quickly re-acquire the subject if the track is lost.
  • Keep everyone in the picture with Multi-person Framing
The SRG-AS10 can automatically track a group of up to eight people, with a primary subject and secondary subjects. The primary subject can be specified via the camera’s Face Registration function, or on the web app screen. The secondary subjects are automatically selected according to their proximity to the primary subject. The camera’s pan, tilt and zoom function ensures that the selected people are included in the image, with natural-looking framing. Multi-person Framing is ideal for various applications, such as corporate conferences, panel discussions, weddings and other ceremonies
  • Achieve natural composition with the Lead Room Effect
When using PTZ Auto Framing to track a person, the composition can be automatically adjusted to provide space in the direction of the subject’s gaze, based on the orientation of the subject’s face. This enables tracking and natural composition close to a professional’s camera operation. Additionally, the size of the margin that can be set with the Lead Room Effect can be adjusted in three levels.

2. High-resolution, refined video for diverse capture and streaming needs
The consistent, high‑resolution 4K 60p video offers refined image quality for capture and live streaming. It’s ideal for lectures, corporate presentations, and events, with faithful reproduction of facial expressions and other fine details, like text in presentation materials, helping ensure your message is communicated clearly and effectively.

  • Reliable image quality for a wide range of capture and streaming applications
Equipped with a 4K STARVIS™* image sensor, the camera delivers clear, low-noise images, even in low-light environments. Smooth motion reproduction at 4K 60p accurately captures natural human movement as well as fast-paced and detailed sports action. In addition, 4K oversampling enables highly detailed, information-rich Full HD video, ensuring excellent image quality across capture, streaming, and archiving workflows. The SRG‑AS10 supports up to 10x optical zoom in 4K and up to 20x zoom in Full HD using Tele Convert Mode, providing flexible framing for a wide variety of capture and streaming scenarios.

    * STARVIS and the logo are registered trademarks of Sony Group Corporation or its affiliates.
  • Smooth and natural pan, tilt, and zoom operation
By refining the motor design and enhancing overall performance, the camera delivers smoother pan and tilt operation. Movement speeds are highly adjustable and, from start to stop, the camera movements remain natural and fluid. The result is seamless, natural-looking video and stable image quality, even in dynamic scenes such as sports, lectures, and stage productions.

3. Highly flexible installation and capture for diverse applications
The compact, lightweight design allows for easy installation, while versatile output interfaces and intuitive operation support efficient workflows. Together, these features provide exceptional flexibility for a wide range of applications and environments.

  • Compact, Lightweight Design with Flexible Installation Options
The compact, lightweight design enables flexible installation across a wide range of environments, such as lecture rooms, conference rooms, studios, halls, and sports venues, including those that are outside the reach of conventional camera operators. Support for both tripod and ceiling-mounted installation, along with image-flip functionality, ensures versatile and unconstrained operation.
  • Two color options to match any space and application
Available in two color options, white or black, the camera can be selected to match specific applications and interior designs, enabling operation without compromising the atmosphere or visual aesthetics of the venue.
  • Versatile outputs and IP connectivity for flexible system design
With NDI®* HX2 pre-installed, no additional software or license configuration is required, enabling immediate video transmission over IP networks without complex network setup. This enables flexible and efficient video production, even in environments that demand fast setup and operation with limited staff. In addition to SDI and HDMI outputs, the camera supports IP streaming protocols, including RTSP, RTMP, and SRT. Support for PoE++ further simplifies system design by delivering power, video, and control through a single LAN cable, enabling clean, scalable, and highly flexible system integration.
*NDI® is a video connectivity technology and registered trademark of Vizrt NDI AB in the United States and other countries.
  • Versatile control options for intuitive and efficient operation
Supporting VISCA over IP, the camera enables remote control and seamless integration with external systems over IP networks. It is also compatible with the optional RM‑IP500 remote controller for precise operation. In addition, camera functions can also be controlled remotely using the web app via a web browser on a tablet or PC. For added convenience, the supplied IR remote commander enables simple, wireless PTZ operation without the need for additional equipment.
  • Integrated tally lamp
The SRG-AS10 features a built-in tally lamp, similar to those used on professional studio cameras. The lamp can optionally illuminate to give presenters visual confirmation of shooting status, or show that PTZ Auto Framing mode is active. The lamp is capable of both “On Air” (red) and “PTZ Auto Framing ON” (green) signaling.

4. Environmental consideration
Sony’s environmental plan “Road to Zero” aims to achieve a zero environmental footprint by 2050. The environmental footprint of this product has been minimized from development to supply chain, production, and packaging.
